Glyfada is in the middle of Corfu on the west coast and lies about 16 km from the capital Kerkyra.
It generally takes about half an hour in the car to make the trip across the island to the main town and about the same for the airport.
The best thing about Glyfada, and the main reason that people choose to stay here is that it’s based around one of the best beaches in Corfu, the beach has soft golden sand and imposing cliffs surrounding it.
It also has plenty of sun loungers available and water sports to keep everyone busy throughout the day.
Menigos resort, Glyfada is a small and relatively quiet resort, there are no late night bars or clubs or any other lively midnight entertainment. If you want a night out then it’s simple enough to head over to Kerkyra where you’ll find a lot more to keep all ages entertained.
Buses from here go to Corfu Town, passing Aqualand, the largest water park on the island, and also going near the golf course in the Ropa Valley.
Glyfada isn’t just about the great beach, there’s also Mirtiotissa beach, which is a small beach often frequented by nudists that’s just a couple of minutes up the road.
As well as these, there are also some fantastic walking trails in the woods around the village.
If you have a car then you can travel to nearby Pelekas which is just 10 minutes drive away.
It’s a traditional Greek village that’s become a bit of a hub for backpackers.

From the airport: Take the road to the left at the exit of the airport and continue till you reach a big junction. Take the road to the right (direction Glyfada, Pelekas, Ermones, Golf Club, Aqualand). Continue for approx. 1 km till you reach another junction. Take the road to the left and follow the road for approx. 8 km. After approx. 1 km you have passed Aqualand on the left you will reach a round junction. Turn left (direction Glyfada, Ermones, Golf Club, Pelekas). Continue for approx. 1 km. Pass the junction to Pelekas and keep going the same road. Right after this junction, you will reach a curve and a small road on the left across that cruve. Take this road. This leads to a central road after approx. 1 km drive. When you reach this road, turn left and then just follow the signs to Glyfada beach, Pazuzu beach bar. You are just 3 km away from there.
From the ferry port: Take the road to the right at the exit of the port and continue till you reach a junction. Take the road to the left (direction Glyfada, Pelekas, Ermones, Golf Club, Aqualand). Continue for approx. 2 km, passing many shops on the road, and taking the downhill road in front of you on the right side. till you reach another small junction. Take the road to the right and follow the road for approx. 8 km. After approx. 1 km you have passed Aqualand on the left you will reach a round junction. Turn left (direction Glyfada,Ermones, Golf Club, Pelekas). Continue for approx. 1 km. Pass the junction to Pelekas and keep going the same road. Right after this junction, you will reach a curve and a small road on the left across that cruve. Take this road. This leads to a central road after approx. 1 km drive. When you reach this road, turn left and then just follow the signs to Glyfada beach, PAZUZU BEACH BAR. You are just 3 km away from there.
From Corfu town bus station: When you arrive at the airport you can take the blue bus N 15 to Corfu town (5 stops)Υπεραστικό Κτελ – Green Bus Station (walk to KTEL 4 min) and then take the green bus N 17 to Glyfada beach (27 stops). Walk to Pazuzu beach bar. On your right after 500 m is the main entrance of Menigos Resort, Gate 1.
